Monkey's six

The next day in April Monkey turned six. The weekend of the girl's birthdays the weather looked like this.
I was so disappointed. For me my girl's birthdays mark the beginning of spring. I know it's a little early but in a perfect world that's when the sun would come out and the flowers would pop up, because it is when my Monkey was born. And she embodies sunshine and energy.

She loves to be outside and has since she was a baby. When I couldn't get her to calm down as a babe I would take her for a walk in the stroller and she would stop fussing. I tried that with the car, but it had the opposite effect. She is always begging me to go outside. She loves it there.

She loves to help out. My favorite is when she begs me to let her clean the bathroom if she picks up her room. She does a great job too.
She's so quick. I am amazed by how well she figures things out. She's always been really good at reasoning, sometimes to my dismay, but knowledge seems to come quickly to her. Maybe part of it is her insatiable curiosity. She tells me her biggest talent is that she is curious. She's definitely not afraid to ask questions. She also knows what she wants. And she's not afraid to go after it.
Here she is helping us with our map at the zoo.

She loves to sing and dance. I love her laugh. I enjoy that every time she has a new teacher, whether it be in school or church, I will be told how great her comments and stories are. She has a great imagination and her stories are funny. I love that she wrote a book all on her own with a pictures, a plot, and a foreword from the author included, and that her teacher and principal asked to use it as an example to show to other teachers.

She cares so deeply and completely. I love this picture of Monkey with her sister and cousin at the Zoo. She loves to help others out, and wants to be everyone's friend. She is quick to forgive me, and for that I will be forever grateful, because unfortunately she is my oldest and I am learning alot about parenting with her.
Ever since she was born I have loved to sing "You are my Sunshine" because it reminds me of her. She brightens the world with her presence. I am so glad she is mine.
Stats: 49 lbs, and 3 ft 7 1/2 inches

Wow. Six! I can't believe it! She is getting so big. I miss being around to see them grow up, but it's nice to hear about what they are up to on your blog!

Oh, and I absolutely LOVE the map picture. The zoo was so much fun, and one of the highlights for me was Maggie asking me if I needed to go to the bathroom so she could show me where it was on the map!
