First day of school

Last week Monkey started school. She's in first grade now and gone all day and we miss her. I love the toothy grin. She loves her teacher and has started reading chapter books. She's in a 1st/2nd grade split. I guess the benefit to that is that she'll have 2nd grade reading material available if she gets bored with the first grade reading material.
Bug was pretty excited for school to start as well. She demanded her own backpack to walk Monkey to school.
We got to walk together as a whole family! Monkey insisted on pushing Lala. The elementary has a tradition of doing a flag ceremony the first day of school. All the parents show up and it's a great thing.
I also started school that same day. So Michelangelo is helping me out and watching the girls while I'm in class. I am very grateful for him and an at home business. It's not the most ideal thing for the business, but at least having Daddy home is an option and we don't have to pay for child care in order for me to get my degree. I LOVE him! Plus see how sad Bug is not to be going to school? She cheered right up once she found out she was going to Daddy Preschool. Michelangelo showed her how to write her name and she is developing right on schedule. It's fun, because I'm learning about this very thing in my classes and it's fun to see my girls do the things that we talk about in class. Someday I'll have to post pictures of their writings.
Since I am back in school there is a chance I might disappear from my blog at times. I will be back when I can.

Wish us luck, it's going to be a crazy, but exciting year.
